Do you find it hard to forgive someone or even yourself?
Do you know unforgiveness is like a cancer in our soul? When the seed of unforgiveness is planted in your heart the moment you take the offense, it will grow roots of bitterness in your soul. Those roots of bitterness will cause you to have anger and emotional pains down the road. Life is short. It's just not worth your time and energy to hold on to offenses. Let them go so you can be free. Even better, don't take any offense when it shows up. Next time when someone offenses you, just tell yourself, "Life is short. I have many important things to spend my time and energy for. I'll forgive and let it go". Try that, I guarantee you will soon find the benefit of doing so, and you can breath freely everyday.
"Forgive and you will be forgiven."
Yu-San, the author, was held in captive of the prison cell of unforgiveness for many years. She didn't want to forgive her mother for years of child abuse, her two abusive ex-husbands who almost killed her, and even herself for allowing all that abuse happened during her adult life. Hence she suffered lots of emotional pains and her view towards life was distorted. One day God showed her that she could be freed from all the torments by forgiving all of her abusers and herself. That day she decided to let go and let God. At first, it wasn't easy for her to let go but the Holy Spirit empowered her to take the first step out of that dark prison. The Holy Spirit was right there shining light before each of her step out of that dark prison cell of unforgiveness and leading her to begin living life full of joy and peace. We can all live a joyful and peaceful life, and one of the main keys is "forgive". May you prosper in all things and in health, just as your soul prospers.
